Privacy Policy

Last updated: 18 August 2026

CareCue is a caregiver-first medication reminder service. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. It reflects the principles of India’s Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023.

In short: We collect only name, age, and medicines. We do not collect or store any diagnosis, condition, or clinical history. Ads are refill-only and are never targeted on a diagnosis. A caregiver sees a parent’s data only through consent-based pairing. Your data is portable and deletable.

1What we collect

We practise data minimisation — we capture only what a reminder needs to work:

  • Caregiver account: email, a hashed password, display name, and (optionally) phone, used to sign you in and link you to the parents you manage.
  • Parent profile: name, age, and phone/timezone — the minimum needed to schedule and display reminders.
  • Medication information: medicine name, dose, timing/schedule, stock quantity, and refill threshold, entered by the caregiver or parent.
  • Adherence events: whether a dose was marked taken, snoozed, skipped, or missed, and when — so a caregiver can see how things are going.
  • Minimal technical data: a device/session token to keep you signed in, and coarse location only where needed to show a relevant local refill option.

2What we never collect

CareCue does not collect or store a patient’s diagnosis, condition, or clinical history. We track medicines, not conditions. Because we hold no diagnosis data, we cannot and do not build health-condition profiles or target anything on a diagnostic basis.

3How we use data

  • To deliver on-time dose reminders and full-screen alarms.
  • To show caregivers adherence and low-stock refill alerts.
  • To project when a medicine will run out and nudge before it does.
  • To keep your account and paired sessions secure.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for generic ad-network profiling.

4Caregiver pairing & consent

Care is a two-person activity. A parent’s data becomes visible to a caregiver only through an accepted, consent-based care link (created with a pairing code). The shared record is limited to name, age, and medicines. Either side can end the link, after which the caregiver no longer sees the parent’s data.

5Refill offers & advertising

  • Advertising exists only for refills, from vetted pharmacy partners — never generic ad networks.
  • Refill offers use only refill timing and coarse location. They are never targeted on a diagnosis, because we hold no diagnosis data.
  • Any medication-identity-based offer requires your explicit opt-in.
  • Sponsored content is always clearly labelled and one tap to dismiss.
  • You complete any order inside the pharmacy partner’s own app; their handling of your order is governed by their privacy policy.

6Optional prescription images

Uploading a prescription image is strictly optional and opt-in. If you add one, it is stored privately and owner-scoped (visible only to the linked caregiver). You can remove it at any time from the app.

7Sharing & partners

We share personal data only: (a) between a parent and their consent-linked caregiver; (b) with service providers strictly needed to run CareCue (e.g. hosting); and (c) where required by law. Pharmacy partners receive only what is needed to fulfil a refill you choose to start.

8Retention

We keep your data only as long as your account is active or as needed to provide reminders. On account deletion we remove your personal data, except where retention is required by law.

9Your rights & portability

  • Access & correction of your personal data.
  • Deletion of your account and associated data.
  • Withdraw consent for pairing at any time.
  • Portability: adherence exports are a user-owned feature, not a lock-in.

To exercise any right, contact us using the details below.

10Security

All traffic is served over HTTPS. Passwords are stored hashed, sessions use bearer tokens, and access to a parent’s data is gated by an accepted care link. On-device alarms work offline so a network outage never exposes or loses your data.

11Children & vulnerable users

CareCue is designed to help caregivers support elderly or recovering adults. It is not intended for use by children to create their own accounts. Caregivers are responsible for obtaining the consent of the parent (or their lawful guardian) before pairing.

12Changes & contact

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above. Questions or data requests: privacy@carecue.in.
